We often take the moon for granted and just see it as a big rock in the night sky, forgetting that it controls many things on Earth such as the tides, menstrual cycles and werewolves.

This neat app will give you an insight into lunar activity, displaying the moon's phase on any given day.

Thankfully, you don't need to be an expert in astronomy in order to use the program.

You simply need to select a day from the calendar and Phoon will automatically display the corresponding lunar phase graphically on the screen.

There are three different views to choose from, representing the current lunar phase, the days of the four lunar phases of a certain month, and the dark side of the moon.
